Day 1:  Arrival in Jackson Hole

We will begin our tour with a full immersion into the Western heritage of Wyoming’s favorite resort town. Nestled between the Grand Teton and Gros Ventre mountain ranges, the valley of Jackson Hole is home to an authentic cowboy town with options for all ages – featuring art galleries, unique dining, a robust shopping district, and iconic cowboy bars. The Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, known for its leather saddle barstools and the Silver Dollar Saloon, where we’ll be stopping for lunch, are both unique and historic spots to grab a memorable beer or cocktail. Take the time to explore the shops in Jackson Square before we check into the Spring Creek Ranch for a night of peace and relaxation

Day 2: River Rafting on the Snake River, Jenny Lake, and Hidden Falls      

Premium Lodging: Spring Creek Ranch: Jackson, WY

Take the morning to enjoy breakfast at the lodge. Later in the morning, we’ll continue to the shores of Jenny Lake. There are a variety of ways to enjoy the lake, including a walk through the Visitor’s Center, a round-trip hike to Hidden Falls or strolling along the lakeshore. For those who want to get on the water, we’ll head into Jackson Hole for a scenic float or whitewater rafting on the Snake River’s Class II and Class III rapids with views of majestic wildlife and scenery. Wet and wild or dry and relaxing, either is a fun way to experience this beautiful area!  After an adventure-filled day, we’ll check in at Spring Creek Ranch where you can indulge in any of the available amenities. Later, enjoy a sunset dinner at The Granary, offering upscale dining and gorgeous panoramic views of the Grand Teton mountain range.

Day 3: Sunrise Wildlife Safari        

Premium Lodging:  Spring Creek Ranch: Jackson, WY

A sunrise scenic drive along the Grand Teton Loop accompanied with a light breakfast will provide multiple photo opportunities for elk, pronghorn and bison – and of course the Grand Tetons. We’ll visit key scenic viewpoints such as Signal Mountain, Oxbow Bend, Jackson Lake, Antelope Flats, and the barns on Mormon Row. We’ll return to Jackson Hole for brunch and one last chance for souvenirs before retiring at Spring Creek Ranch for an afternoon of relaxation overlooking the alpine valley. To extend your day, take an evening trail ride on horseback from the ranch or simply enjoy the scenery at your own leisure.

Day 4: Yellowstone Lower Grand Loop

We’ll begin our first day in Yellowstone National Park by exploring the geological wonders and alpine waters inside the caldera of the Super Volcano. Our morning scenic drive brings us to the shores of Yellowstone Lake – at 7,733 ft above sea level, Yellowstone Lake is the largest high elevation lake in North America. Driving along the Fire Hole River, we’ll visit key areas such as Biscuit Basin, West Thumb Geyser Basin and of course, Old Faithful Geyser. We’ll break for lunch at the historic Old Faithful Lodge before continuing through Fountain Flats, Norris Geyser Basin, and Midway and Lower Geyser Basins where you’ll find outstanding colors of steamy blue, bright green and rusty orange. We will then complete our day in West Yellowstone.

Day 5: Mammoth Hot Spring & Lamar Valley

Take the morning to sleep in an enjoy the amenities found on the ranch. Activities such as horseback riding or fly fishing on the Gallatin River are a great way to spend the early hours of the day. After lunch, we’ll continue our exploration to the northern end of the Grand Loop of Yellowstone at Mammoth Hot Springs. Home to the Historic Fort Yellowstone, this location boasts expansive views of the surrounding valley, Swan Lake, and the vibrant orange and white travertine terraces. Continuing east through Roosevelt Junction, the landscape uncovers the cascading waters of Tower Fall where guests may take the short hike to the bottom or simply view it from the top. As the evening approaches, we’ll carefully dissect the wonders of Lamar Valley behind the lens. Bison, grizzly bears, wolves, pronghorn, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, and Roosevelt elk highlight this trek through the heart of Yellowstone’s showcase of wildlife as our day in the park comes to a close.

Day 6: Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Artists Point, Dunraven Pass, Hayden Valley 

Premium Lodging: Jackson Lake Lodge

We’ll rise early, as today is a day for discovering the majestic scenery and vibrant wildlife of this treasured American region. Boarding the Expedition Cruiser, our morning brings us to Artist’s Point where a perfectly timed rainbow appears across the majestic Upper Falls of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. With multiple hiking opportunities, the canyon offers a variety of perspectives of the Upper and Lower Falls. We’ll continue to Canyon Village to learn of the history and geography of the park at the Visitor Education Center. Continuing back along the Yellowstone River, the late afternoon brings us to Hayden Valley, where herds of North American bison feed on the luscious green landscape. From here, we’ll make our way along Yellowstone Lake, returning to Jackson Lake Lodge overlooking Grand Teton National Park.

The town of Jackson Hole offers a variety of unique flavorful restaurants that we highly recommend trying out if you have time to hang around. Small Groups

National Park Travel Club provides seating for 20 travelers aboard the Expedition Cruiser. Small groups give guests the ability to fully relax and not be rushed. The Expedition Cruiser gives travelers ample room to see the region with full views, space to relax, and the full attention from their guides. Fewer people equal more focus and less hassle.

Lodging

The criteria for lodging is based on several factors that will impact your adventure. We do our best to choose lodging that is 4 and 5 start lodging, but experience has taught us that everyone has a different interpretation of 4- and 5-star lodging. When choosing to lodge the primary factors we consider are:

  • Reputable —The hotel has a reputation for providing a safe, clean service that would meet the expectation of discerning travelers. National Park and National Scenic Areas do not always offer lodging options that are 4- and 5-star quality. Strategic locations on lakes, rivers, ocean beaches or inside the National Park are often 3-star quality. They are, however, clean, safe and provide good sleeping quarters. When 4- or 5-star lodging is routed with our unique itineraries, we will always choose these properties when available.
  • Location—We choose hotels that minimize the commute on the Expedition Cruiser. Our goal is to make time in your destination as efficient and comfortable as possible. Spending an extra hour of commute each day to get back or to a hotel is not consistent with our tour culture.
  • Convenient to multiple food options—Although some of the hotel choices we choose offer a limited offering of restaurant options because of how remote they are, we focus on properties that give guests an opportunity to explore dining options that meet their cravings and interest.
  • Activity-Focused—We make best effort to choose lodging that gives guests an opportunity to explore on their own such as walking trails, hiking options, beach access, fishing, shopping districts, water activities, and historical or educational opportunities.

Meals

chefFood is a big part of most everyone’s vacation experience. When we travel to remote destinations our goal is to have food enhance the experience and not take from it. Our trips are routed with multiple dining out options that include the cost of breakfast, lunch, and dinner each day on the tour. Most of our meals are served in restaurants with multiple options to choose from. While on the Excursion Cruiser, meals are strategically prepared to offer dining experiences that are fresh, made-to-order and maximize your time at your destination. Crafting meals that are sensitive to food allergies and nutrition choices is as equally important to our guests as the creative and tasty options that are provided while in these remote destinations. While the sun is up, and the light is available we focus on more time in the park and less time in lines and waiting for food. Enjoying a hand-crafted meal on the banks of a majestic river makes the experience complete and satisfying. In addition to crafted meals, the guest is also offered daily appetizers, treats and a full-service drink menu that includes wine, beer and any type of beverage requested in advance of the tour for each guest’s pleasure. Fresh seasonal fruit is always in stock on the Expedition Cruiser throughout the day and of course, all snacks, appetizers desserts, and beverages are included in the all-inclusive price.

Attractions

National Park Travel Club provides travel solution with multi-generational options. Activities are classified in our itineraries as Leisure, Adventure and Scenic.

Tour itineraries are built strategically to have a complete offering for all ages and activity levels. Some activities may not be of interest to some travelers, so they are not always included in the price of the tour. Below is a description of the types of activities that would be a part of a National Park Travel Club itinerary.

Leisure

Scenic walking trails, vistas, waterfalls, and other park attractions that are accessible regardless of your activity level. These attractions are available to most travelers and enjoyed by those seeking a relaxing vacation that is easy on the eyes and easy on the knees.

Adventure

Rafting, paddle boarding, canoeing, horseback riding, zip lining, gondola rides, fishing, windsurfing, aggressive hiking trails, golf, and bike riding are examples of options that are available on most tours. While some of these attractions may be included in the all-inclusive price, most of these options are add-on features that guests can choose from at an additional cost.

Educational

Museums, interpretive centers, visitors’ centers, and historical markers, all enhance the guide’s interpretation of the region’s human history, geology, flora and fauna, and lifestyle of the people of the region. This is always included in the tour as well as one-on-one opportunities with the guides to better understand the full value of our treasured National Parks.

Cultural and Human History

Every region and National Park offers a unique history and present that makes the destination so special. Native Americans, Frontiersman, Trappers, Settlers, Miners and iconic people in our nation’s brief history have contributed to the fascinating stories that make our National Parks and surrounding attractions so appealing. Our guides interpret the region but also include the stories of the people who developed the region into the treasures they are today. Connecting each National Park Travel Club guest with the local art, music, and creativity of the region is a key objective on each tour.

Culinary and Farm to Table

Farm to TableOur goal at National Park Travel Club is to help involve our guests in an immersion into the local culinary and beverage options and gain a new perspective through the eyes of the artisans, farmers, and chefs that bring life to this fascinating area of tourism. Because not all guests are interested in wine tasting, breweries, distilleries, and farm-to-table options, these attractions are not always included depending on the type of tour it is but is made available when the route and schedule allow.

Luggage Handling

Included your all-inclusive tour is the porterage of luggage to and from your hotel room when arriving or departing.

Transfers to and from airport

Transfers to and from the airport are included in your all-inclusive tour. Arrangements are made by National Park Travel Club which will include either the Expedition Cruiser, shuttle bus, cab, or other scheduled transportation.

The Expedition Cruiser

Remote destinations offer all kinds of challenges to even the most well-planned traveler. The sole purpose of the Expedition Cruiser is to provide a relaxing environment for each guest while offering the comforts that are not available on alternative modes of transportation. While the Expedition Cruiser may have many bells and whistles that are rarely used, it has the essential tools that enhance the wonders of the National Parks. Designed with the purpose of giving guests a complete small group experience while also catering to individuals needs, the Expedition Cruiser boasts leather couches, two private lounges with seating up to eight, seating at tables, multiple central heating and air zones, full kitchen, hot and cold towel service, multiple charging stations for electronic devices, in-transit satellite television, wireless internet, closets for coats and bags, and a lavatory that has a flushing commode and hot water for washing your hands. 2020 motor coaches will also offer multiple six-way captain chairs that rotate degrees.

Can I make special room requests?

Of course! National Park Travel Club is happy to advise hotels of any special room requests or requirements, provided we receive them at the time your reservation is made. Please be aware that all requests cannot be guaranteed and additional fees may be applied.

Can the National Park Travel Club book rooms before and after my adventure?

Your lodging is secured for your first through last night of your tour. National Park Travel Club is happy to assist you in booking a pre or post tour night stay at the hotel we are staying at based on availability.  If you would like to choose an alternative hotel, we can make suggestions, but it will be the traveler’s responsibility to handle the booking. Give us a call, and we would be happy to recommend lodging and activities in your departure and arrival cities.

Does National Park Travel Club work with Travel Agents?

National Park Travel Club highly values working with travel professionals. Please let us know at the time of booking if you have an Agent you are working with.

How far in advance should I make my reservation?

It is highly recommended that you book as soon as dates are made available – our tours often are filled up to a year in advance. We have limited departure dates for each region that we visit. If you are in search of a private section on the Expedition Cruiser or a private vacation with your closest travel companions, the timing of your booking is even more critical.

What is due at the time of booking with National Park Travel Club?

A deposit is required to hold a reservation for a National Park Travel Club adventure. A $1,500.00 per person deposit must be made for our 7 days, 6-night tours and must be received at the time of your booking, or received at our office within 10 days of your booking date. $500.00 of this deposit is non-refundable without travel insurance.

All Day Trips must be paid in full at time of booking.

What hours can I contact a Tour Specialist at National Park Travel Club to discuss my tour?

You can give us a call any time you would like! If you prefer talking to a human, our operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST (excluding celebratory holidays). What forms of payment does the National Park Travel Club accept?

National Park Travel Club accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and check payments. To book your All-Inclusive Vacation or Day Trip with National Park Travel Club, you may use our online booking platform or call our offices on our secure line, 7-day vacation final payments are due 100 days before departure.

Will I have to make payment at the time I make a reservation?

A deposit is required to hold a reservation for a National Park Travel Club adventure. A $1,500.00 per person deposit must be made for our 7 days, 6-night tours and must be received at the time of your booking, or received at our office within 10 days of your booking date.

$1000.00 of this deposit is non-refundable without travel insurance.

Will I receive documentation when I book a National Park Travel Club adventure?

Once your booking has been confirmed, you will receive a booking summary and a trip receipt. This communication will come in the form of an email and will be sent immediately after the booking is confirmed. But it doesn’t stop there – we want to get to know each guest and their travel preferences before their departure. Following your booking summary, you will receive your Welcome Packet with your next steps as a traveler with National Park Travel Club as well as your travel waivers. These consist of Acknowledgement of Risks and Release of Liability Waiver, Emergency Contact Information, Photo & Publicity Release Form, and Guest Profile Form.

How many meals will the Tour Chef prepare while on our adventure?

What is hungry? We strategically plan our meals with our Tour Chef to conform to the demands of the itinerary schedule – ensuring that our guests are always full and content. The Tour Chef prepares locally-sourced meals that reflect the flavors of the region. Utilizing hand-selected destinations to prepare in the field, our Tour Chef enables each traveler to maximize their time exploring the parks rather than racing to make a reservation across town.

In addition to planned meals with our Tour Chef, you will also have the opportunity to taste the local fare by utilizing your Flex Pass when the Chef is not providing your culinary inclusions. Complimentary in-transit appetizers, desserts and hand-crafted beverages will be available all day throughout your tour.

Is alcohol included and served on the Expedition Cruiser?

Yes, local and domestic beer and wine are made available to those who want to drink responsibly. This is included as are all refreshments that are made available while on tour. Please know that this is not a booze cruise. All-inclusive alcohol is a privilege and guests are expected to use their best judgment when consuming it. The National Park Travel Club Hospitality Guide and Tour Chef reserve the right to refuse serving alcohol to any individual where safety is at risk or behavior affects other travelers.

Will I have individual time with the Senior Tour Specialist to ask questions?

Absolutely. Our small group atmosphere allows a lot of opportunities to get to know your guide. We have at least one expert guide on each tour.  The Senior Tour Specialist is completely free of distraction to focus specifically on your needs. The flora, fauna and human history are all important to communicate as well as hearing the stories of the region that only local insight can offer.

What is the activity level of the tour?

Anything you would like it to be. We have strategically crafted each of our adventures to be compatible with various activity levels and multi-generational travelers – ensuring that each guest receives the vacation that fulfills their unique interests.
